Given the line through the points A and B, and a point C not on the line, carry out the following steps to construct a line through C parallel to Line AB.
Step 1: Connect points A and C.
Step 2: Construct two circles, each of radius AC, at the points A and C. Label the point F at which the circles intersect Line AB.
Step 3: Construct a circle of radius AC at the point F. Label the point I as shown below.
Step 4: Connect the points C and I.
You're done! Line CI is parallel to Line AB. Furthermore, ACIF is a rhombus.
